On December 5, the "Baku Declaration" was ratified at the conclusion of the "1st meeting of tourism educational institutions of the member states of the Economic Cooperation Organization," a collaborative effort by the State Tourism Agency of the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Economic Cooperation Organization.
The declaration highlights the commitment to broaden collaboration in the realms of tourism education, research, and information exchange, as well as the promotion of cultural heritage and the advancement of tourism innovations. It also underscores the intention to convene this inaugural meeting in the future.
During the round table conducted as part of the meeting, discussions revolved around broadening partnership opportunities for tourism education among member countries of the organization, developing training programs, and establishing a unified network of tourism education institutions.
Official state representatives and delegates from tourism education institutions representing 9 member countries of the organization, namely Azerbaijan, Turkey, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Turkmenistan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Iran, and Pakistan, as well as representatives from the UN World Tourism Organization, participated in the event that commenced on December 4.
